At the Stadio San Paolo (Napoli), Stephen Odey started and played for an hour as FC Zuerich were beaten 2-0 by the Serie A side, who go their goals through Simone Verdi and Adam Ounas to advance 5-1 on aggregate.
It's also the end of the road for Chelsea loanee Victor Moses after Fenerbahce's 3-1 loss at Zenit St Petersburg, with the former Nigeria international making his third consecutive start for the Yellow Canaries in all tournaments.
Ozdoev and Azmoun scored to put the hosts 2-0 up but Topal halved the deficit just before half-time before Azmoun's second of the evening sent the Russians through.
In the game involving Dinamo Zagreb and Viktoria Plzeň at Stadion Maksimir , two Nigerians Iyayi Believe Atiemwen and Ubong Ekpai were unused substitutes for their respective teams.
Dinamo progressed after an excellent 3-0 win with Oršić, Dilaver, Petković getting on the scoresheet.
At the Commerzbank-Arena in Germany, Olarenwaju Kayode came off the bench in the 80th minute for Shakhtar Donetsk in their 4-1 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Bundesliga side eased into the next round courtesy of strikes from Luka Jovic, Sebastien Haller (2) and Ante Rebic; Junior Moraes replied for the Ukrainians on 64 minutes.
