Nigeria Send Scouts To Watch Everton Scoring Sensation; Winger Bags Brace Vs Stoke U18s
Published: February 23, 2019
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the Nigeria Football Federation have posted scouts to run the rule over Everton U18s scoring sensation Korede Adedoyin ahead of a potential call-up to the national team.
The Nigeria U20s inability to score goals saw them beaten in the U20 AFCON semifinal and third place playoff matches, and manager Aigbogun is on the lookout for a proven goalscorer.
Adedoyin fits the bill as he has been in brilliant form for Everton U18s this season, scoring 13 goals in all competitions.
The Lagos-born winger bagged a brace to further enhance his growing reputation as the Toffees lost 4-2 to Stoke City in an U18 Premier League fixture staged at Clayton Wood Training Ground on Saturday afternoon.
The promising youngster should have easily scored four goals against The Potters before he was replaced at half-time but was unfortunate to hit the post twice after dribbling past all the defenders each time.
Having missed the start of the season through injury, Adedoyin now has one of the best goals per minute ratio in the U18 Premier League with 10 goals to his name in 552 minutes of action.
The 2000-born player was replaced at half-time because Everton U18s coach wanted to avoid him picking up an injury ahead of the crucial FA Youth Cup clash vs West Brom.
