Arsenal Legend Advises Emery To Replace Ozil With Iwobi Against Valencia Next Week
Published: May 03, 2019
Arsenal legend Martin Keown has advised manager Unai Emery to replace Mesut Ozil with either Alex Iwobi or Henrikh Mkhitaryan in next week's Europa League semifinal second leg clash against Valencia at the Estadio de Mestalla.
The Nigeria international was surprisingly not given game time by the Spaniard in the Gunners 3-1 win at the Emirates on Thursday evening, watching proceedings from the bench for the entirety of the game.
Mouctar Diakhaby headed the La Liga side in front after just 11 minutes before a first half brace from Alexandre Lacazette made it 2-1, then Pierre Emerick Aubameyang rounded off the scoring in the 90th minute.
Speaking on his preferred starting lineup for the second leg, Keown told BT Sport : ''Guendouzi is not quite ready yet but he's a useful player for Arsenal nevertheless.
''I don't think Ozil plays away from home, he has made that decision. It’s whether he wants to put Iwobi in or Mkhitaryan in.
''The 11 that finished tonight, Koscielny's not fit, Monreal comes in, then I think that’s as good a team as he can put out in the away leg."

Iwobi is Arsenal's most used player this season with 48 appearances under his belt, including ten in the Europa League.
