Confirmed : Tottenham Hotspur Snap Up Promising Nigerian Attacker
Published: June 07, 2019Through a statement on their official webpage, English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of talented Nigerian striker Kion Etete.
The financial terms and duration of contract signed by the teenager have not been disclosed by the North London club.
Aged 17, Etete was offered a contract by Spurs following a successful trial and has ended his association with demoted League Two club Notts County.
He netted a brace in a trial game against West Ham in the U18 Premier League in March 2019 and traveled with the U19 team to the Netherlands for the recent Under-19 Terborg Tournament.
Born in Derbyshire, England to a Nigerian father and English mom, Etete joined Notts County at the age of fourteen, rising through the ranks before making his first team debut in a Checkatrade Trophy clash against Newcastle United U21 in October 2018.
He has described himself as a quick, strong striker and loves taking shots at goal.
