2019 Women's World Cup : Super Falcons Player Ratings From 3-0 Loss To Germany
Published: June 22, 2019
Goals from Sara Daebritz, Alexandra Popp and Schuller proved enough to condemn the Super Falcons to a 3-0 defeat against Germany in their 2016 FIFA World Cup round of 16 meeting at the Stade des Alpes, Grenoble on Saturday, June 22.
Allnigeriasoccer.com reports the performances of the players in action thus,
The Starters
Goalkeeper
Chiamaka Nnadozie: Looked promising yet again.
Could only watch Alexandra Popp's header float in for the opener and would not get down too quickly to thwart Sara Daebritz from the spot. (5/10)
Defenders
Evelyn Nwabuoku: Conceded a penalty for a blatant kick on Lina Magull and hardly looked settled. Hurled off for Ajibade in the second half. (5/10)
Onome Ebi: Composed and disciplined display from Ebi.
Shielded her goal the much she could. (5.5/10)
Chidimma Okeke: Handled pressure well but could do little to stop the goals from flowing. (6/10)
Osinachi Ohale: Resiliently threw her body behind every shot from the opposition and was decent. (6/10)
Midfielders
Ngozi Okobi: Battled hard against the opponent's midfielders and looked up to the task.
Deliveries were not top-notch though. (6.5/10)
Halimatu Ayinde: Drifted in and out of the game as Nigeria continued to chase the huge deficit.
Was culpable for the third goal. (5/10)
Uchenna Kanu: Saw very little of the ball for much of it and conjured up very little.
Came off for Ogebe late on. (5/10)
Francisca Ordega: Full of running and pressing down the right flank and put in some quite inviting crosses.
The best player in green on the pitch. (7/10)
Attackers
Chinwendu Ihezuo: Proved quite a handful to play against for the Germans and was pacy.
Brought off after picking up a knock. (6.5/10)
Desire Oparanozie: Fluffed some couple of chances and really should have done more.
Cautioned for her troubles. (5.5/10
The Substitutes
Rasheedat Ajibade: Came on for Nwabuoku and brought some much needed urgency upfront.
Booked. (6.5/10)
Chinaza Uchendu: Replaced the crocked Ihezuo (4/10)
Alice Ogebe: On for Kanu in the late exchanges. NA
