Nigeria U20 Invitee Bennetts Signs New Deal With Watford, Training With First Team
Published: July 04, 2019
Talented Nigerian attacking midfielder Jayden Bennetts has ended speculation about his future by agreeing a new contract with Premier League side Watford, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.
The ex-Flying Eagles invitee has put pen to paper on his first professional contract with The Hornets.
Bennetts' contract will be for an initial period of one year and the Vicarage Stadium outfit have retained the option to extend the agreement by an additional twelve months.
The 18-year-old is widely regarded as the best prospect in Watford's Academy since Jadon Sancho and has been invited by manager Javi Gracia to train with the first team in pre-season.
He has been doing extra sessions at the training ground in London Colney since last month before joining the first team for pre-season training this week.
Born in Barnet to a Nigerian father and German mom, Jayden Bennetts joined Watford at U8 level.
His elder brother, Borussia Mönchengladbach's Keanan Bennetts, has been nominated for the Golden Boy award.
