Teenage Arsenal Winger Close To Move To German Club
Published: July 25, 2019
According to Sky Sports, Nigerian winger Xavier AmaechiĀ is close to completing a transfer to a German club.
Although the identity of the German club has not been revealed, the teenager has been courted by Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the past.
Bayern are believed to be in the market for a winger and Callum Hudson-Odoi was their top choice but he is set to commit his future to Chelsea by penning a new long-term deal in the coming days.
It would be a sensible career move for Amaechi to join a German club if he is guaranteed first team action after his omission from Arsenal's tour squad to the United States.
No thanks to the injury he suffered while on international duty with England youth team, the 18-year-old has yet to make his first team debut for the Gunners and was a last-minute omission from the match day 23 in the Europa League final vs Chelsea in May.
Last season, the Hale End Academy product was involved in 9 goals (4 goals, 5 assists) in 14 appearances in the Premier League 2.
