Bordeaux's Kalu Scores One Minute After Coming Off The Bench; Galatasaray's Ozornwafor Makes Cameo
Published: July 28, 2019
Super Eagles star Samuel Kalu's goal could not prevent his team from losing 3-1 to Galatasaray in a pre-season friendly on Sunday.
The winger, who was a fringe part of Gernort Rohr's team in Egypt, wasn't in Bordeaux's starting line-up against the Turkish Super Lig champions as he was brought into the game in the 71st minute by coach Paulo Sousa.
Interestingly, the 21-year-old scored after just one minute as he put the ball into Galatasaray's net in the 72nd minute, heading home after a great assist from Bellanova.
After struggling to impress in his debut season with Bordeaux due to injury, Kalu will hope to justify his price tag in the upcoming season.
His compatriot, Valentine Ozornwafor entered the game as a substitute in the 87th minute.
The Flying Eagles defender will hope to break into Fatih Terim's starting XI in the 2019-20 season.
