Nigeria Battling It Out With England For Promising Chelsea Goalkeeper
Published: August 19, 2019
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands the Nigeria Football Federation are battling it out with their English counterparts for the services of promising Chelsea goalkeeper Prince Adegoke.
As it stands, Adegoke has pledged his international future to Nigeria but the English FA are aware of the precocious talent and have earmarked him for a role in the Young Lions.
It can be exclusively reported that scouts representing the English Football Association have watched him several times and they have recommended that he should be invited to the U17 squad.
But Adegoke's heart is with Nigeria and he has held initial talks with the Nigerian Federation over a call-up to the Golden Eaglets squad before their trip to Brazil for the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup.
In recent times, the NFF have approached young dual-eligible players to commit their international future to Nigeria, knowing full well that they will bring the technical side of their game to the youth teams despite lacking physical attributes.
Born in 2003, Adegoke was named on the bench when Chelsea faced Arsenal in the U18 Premier League last year.
He was snapped up by Chelsea in April 2016 after he was spotted playing for the U12 team of Langley FC.
