Official : Arsenal Confirm Nigerian Midfielder Has Signed New Contract
Published: September 24, 2019
Through a statement on their official website arsenal.com, Premier League side Arsenal have confirmed that promising Nigeria-eligible midfielder Miguel Azeez has inked a new deal with the Emirates Stadium outfit.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported more than five months ago that the England youth international will put put pen to paper on a professional contract as soon as he turns 17 on September 20, 2019.
The length of the new professional contract signed by Azeez has not been disclosed but this website can exclusively report that the agreement is for three seasons.
A central midfielder by trade, he joined the Gunners at the age of five and rose through the youth ranks before making his competitive debut for the U18s during the 2017-2018 season while still a schoolboy.
Having debuted for Arsenal U23s this season at the age of sixteen, everything is pointing to the fact that he'll make his first team debut sooner rather than later.
Azeez, who is also eligible to represent Spain internationally, was part of the Young Lions squad to the 2019 U17 EURO and has been promoted to the U18s this season.
