Versatile Nigerian Midfielder Edging Closer To EPL Debut, Makes Wolves 18 Vs Liverpool
Published: December 29, 2019
Versatile Nigerian midfielder Owen Otasowie is edging closer to making his English Premier League debut for Wolverhampton Wanderers, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
For the second time this season, manager Nuno Espirito Santo selected the 18-year-old in his matchday eighteen as Wolves were beaten 1-0 by European champions Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday evening.
Against Sheffield United at the start of this month, Otasowie was a non-playing substitute, just as was the case in today's clash against The Reds.
His professional debut came against Besiktas in the Europa League on December 12, coming on to replace Leander Dendoncker on 73 minutes, and he gave a good account of himself, coming close to netting a debut goal only to see his header hit the woodwork.
Otasowie has earned a call-up to the first team of Wolves after showing his quality for the U23 side in the Premier League 2, EFL Trophy and Premier League International Cup.
The highly-rated teenager was born in New York and eligible to turn out for the United States as well as England.
