Exclusive: New Manchester United Striker Ighalo Lands In Dubai Ahead Of Flight To Manchester
Published: February 02, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that new Manchester United signing Odion Ighalo landed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Sunday morning ahead of his trip to the United Kingdom to join up with his new teammates.
The Red Devils were able to get the deal over the line for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer before the January transfer window closed for business on Friday, January 31.
Based on Ighalo's itinerary, from Dubai, he will take a flight directly to the Manchester Airport later today.
Even though the former Watford man has been inactive since facing Shandong Luneng Taishan in the final of the Chinese FA Cup on December 6, 2019, he is in good physical condition as he has a physical trainer that has been keeping him in shape and took part in practice games whilst vacationing in Nigeria during the festive period.
Assuming Ighalo was in Manchester on Saturday, he would not have been eligible to feature against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League because the transfer was completed after 12pm GMT on Friday.
Should he feature against Chelsea on February 17, he will become the second player of Nigerian descent to represent Manchester United in the English top-flight since former Republic of Ireland center back Paul McGrath, and the first Nigerian-born player to achieve the feat.
