Chelsea Loanee Ike Ugbo Returns To The Scoresheet For Roda JC
Published: February 08, 2020Ike Ugbo returned to the scoresheet but could not prevent Roda JC from a suffering a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Den Bosch at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion (Kerkrade) on Friday night, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Prior to yesterday's fixture, the Chelsea loanee was waiting for his first goal after three appearances in the Eerste Divisie but has been Roda's standout player this season.
In Maurice Verberne's first game in charge as caretaker coach of Roda, his team had a difficult night, finding themselves three goals down after 18 minutes before Ugbo reduced the deficit.
The Nigeria Football Federation target capitalized on a defensive blunder to score nine minutes before halftime, taking his tally to 11 goals from 24 matches in the process.
Ruben Rodrigues and Laukart scored in the second half to complete a comprehensive win for the visitors.
Following their eleventh loss of the season, Roda JC have slipped from seventeenth to eighteenth in the Eerste Divisie standings.
