Former Man Utd, Chelsea Stars Reactions After Miss From Bournemouth's Nigeria-Eligible Midfielder
Published: February 09, 2020
Former Denmark U21 international of Nigerian descent, Philip Billing missed a glorious opportunity to extend Bournemouth's lead in their ongoing Premier League clash against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
The two teams were level at the break as Billy Sharp's injury time effort cancelled out Callum Wilson's opener.
It could have been 2-0 seconds after the Cherries took the lead but Billing failed to connect a cross from Ryan Fraser.
Speaking during half-time, former Manchester United striker and BT Sport pundit, Michael Owen reacted to the miss from the former Huddersfield Town star, saying : "Again this is a really good chance, Fraser does well to pounce.
"Billing, I think that is a chance, maybe Wilson gets in his way. But no question, he just misses the ball there. Yes, it is a tightish angle but it is a chance."
Former Chelsea captain and fellow pundit, Andy Townsend added : "That would have made such a difference to the game because if Bournemouth go two up it just changes the dynamics, the way you feel, so significantly.
"Looking back, we'll see how significant that miss from Phil Billing is".
The match was still deadlocked at 1-1 with eight minutes remaining. Dominic Solanke is on the bench for the visitors.
