Manchester United Coach Backing Watford Old Boy Ighalo To Score On Home Debut
Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is backing Odion Ighalo to find the net against his former club Watford on Sunday afternoon, provided the former Nigeria international is handed a run out.

The Shanghai Greenland Shenhua loanee has fond memories of his two-and-a-half-year spell at Watford, scoring 40 goals in 100 appearances and it will be an emotional day for him should he play against the Hornets.

A good finisher in and around the box, Ighalo flourished under manager Quique Sánchez Flores in his maiden season in the Premier League, netting 15 goals over the course of the campaign.

The piece of good news for Manchester United fans is that the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer is nearing a return to full fitness after more two months of inactivity, having featured as a substitute against Chelsea and Club Brugge.

Speaking to MUTV, Solskjaer said : "Definitely it will be a special day for him and hopefully he can add to that goal tally in the Premier League but against them."

Ighalo did not lose his goalscoring touch in China, with 46 goals combined for both Changchun Yatai and Shanghai Greenland Shenhua in 74 matches across three seasons.
