Tottenham's Etete Heading Towards Double Digits For Goals After Brace Vs Southampton U18s
Published: February 29, 2020Tottenham Hotspur striker Kion Etete is nearing double digits for goals in his first full season with the youth team after netting a brace for the U18s in their 6-1 demolition of Southampton in the U18 Premier League this afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The former Notts County wonderkid was the star of the show in the comprehensive win against the Saints and took his tally for the season to eight goals in all competitions.
Etete scored Tottenham's third goal by converting a cutback from Nile John on the stroke of halftime.
At minute 66, he won a penalty after he was fouled in the area and Chay Cooper dispatched the resulting spot-kick, before wrapping up the scoring seven minutes from time.
Seven of Etete's goals came in U18 Premier League matches and he got the other in a UEFA Youth League game against Red Star Belgrade back in October.
Born in Derbyshire, England, he has not ruled out the possibility of playing international football for Nigeria.
