'You Can Play FIFA With Your Buddies' - Dessers Gives Tips To Pass The Time During Lockdown
Published: March 28, 2020Heracles Almelo striker Cyriel Dessers has appealed to residents of Almelo and its environs to observe the stay at home directive in an attempt to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
As of March 27 1400 hours, the total number of people diagnosed with coronavirus was 8,603 while 546 people who tested positive have died from the disease.
Dessers is advising residents to pass away the time by playing football simulation video game, FIFA 20.
"Playing football with your friends is of course not at the moment. But you can play FIFA with your buddies online. Or start a career with Heracles. That is not a bad idea either," Dessers was quoted as saying by Dutch daily newspaper Tubantia.
Dessers was the joint-leading scorer in the Eredivisie with 15 goals from 26 appearances before the league was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Born in Belgium, the 25-year-old was in contention to make his competitive debut for the Super Eagles in one of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone this month but the Confederation of African Football postponed both games.
