'He's A Proper Player' - Watford Captain Impressed By Bukayo Saka's Displays At Arsenal
Published: April 06, 2020
Watford striker Troy Deeney has admitted that he has been left impressed by Bukayo Saka's displays at Arsenal.
Deeney is very unpopular with Arsenal fans for his comments in the wake of the Gunners 2-1 loss to Watford in a Premier League clash at Vicarage Road in October 2017.
While the then Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger blamed a penalty converted by Deeney for the loss, the Hornets captain saw things differently, saying the north London club lacked cojones or physicality.
Setting the record straight in an interview with The United Stand published by The Mirror UK, Deeney said : "Arsenal people hate me but it is what it is.
"The reason me and someone like (Arsenal Fan TV regulars) DT get on, or me and Robbie or me and Troopz, is because I’m not saying Arsenal are crap, or these players are not good enough ...."

He added : "Saka at left-back, he’s a proper player.
"I’m not just going, ‘oh, you lost, haha’. Bro, Watford lose more than most."

Saka, 18, was a non-playing substitute as Arsenal and Watford shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw at Vicarage Road on matchday 5 this season.
