Maja would later move to Bordeaux, penning a four-and-a-half-year deal until the end of the 2022-2023 season, with Sunderland pocketing 1.7million euros from the sale of the talented youngster.
The likes of Manchester City, Crystal Palace, Huddersfield Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers also kept a close eye on the Anglo-Nigerian frontman before he opted to continue his career in France.
The 21-year-old progressed the Sunderland youth ranks, making 49 first-team appearances, scoring 17 goals prior to his switch to Bordeaux, for whom he has made 31 appearances.
