West Ham Product Once Touted As The World's Fastest Player, Fanimo On The Radar Of European Clubs
Published: May 05, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that several European clubs have West Ham United product Matthias Fanimo on their radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old caught the eye before the Bosnian Premier League was halted, scoring 5 goals in 17 games while producing five assists for modest club Mladost Doboj Kakanj, whom he joined in January 2019.
Austrian Bundesliga club Rapid Vienna have made contact with Fanimo's agent over a deal and he has been scouted by Red Star Belgrade and KSK Beveren.
The pacy winger is open to switching clubs because he wants to play in a league with more visibility.
During his time at West Ham Academy, the Anglo-Nigerian was touted to be the fastest player in the world, with a reading of 9.8 on the GPS monitor, same speed recorded by former Manchester United skipper Antonio Valencia.
Fanimo was tipped for big things at the Hammers but they had to part company with him in 2015 due to his poor injury record.
A former England U16 skipper, he has also been capped by his country of birth at U17 and U18 levels.
