Official : Manchester United Wrap Up Nigerian Striker Loan Extension
Published: June 01, 2020
With a statement on their official website, Manchester United have confirmed that Odion Ighalo has inked a fresh loan deal with the club that will see the Nigerian striker remain at Old Trafford until January 31, 2021.
The Red Devils and Shanghai Shenhua reached a club-to-club agreement on Sunday but the paperwork was finalized few minutes ago.
After Marcus Rashford suffered an injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Emirates FA Cup, United signed Ighalo on loan four months ago to provide cover for the England star.
Though Rashford is nearing a return to full fitness, the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer has reaped the rewards for his imperious displays with United offering him a new deal.
Before the suspension of football activities in England due to the coronavirus outbreak, Ighalo scored four goals in eight games.
