Published: June 10, 2020
Chelsea and Reading faced off in a scrimmage staged at Cobham Training Center on Wednesday with the English Premier League side running out 1-0 winners through a goal from Spanish winger Pedro, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
With the Premier League and Championship set to resume, both managers used the friendly to test the match fitness of their players.
The Royals coach Mark Bowen handed valuable game time to Nigeria Football Federation target Ovie Eajria.
The Liverpool loanee was pictured contesting for the ball with Brazil star Willian in one of the action images published by Chelsea on their official website.
Ejaria has made 35 appearances for Reading this season and earned rave reviews for his imperious displays before the season was paused in March.
The former Arsenal schoolboy returned for a second loan spell with Reading in August 2019.
The 2017 England U20 World Cup-winning midfielder and his Royals teammates welcome Stoke City to the Madejski Stadium on June 20.
