Zirkzee Speaks About His Future With Newly Crowned Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich
Published: June 17, 2020
Dutch-Nigerian striker Joshua Zirkzee is celebrating winning the German Bundesliga title in his maiden season with the first team.
The 19-year-old was an unused substitute on Tuesday evening as the Bavarian side defeated Werder Bremen 1-0 to clinch their eighth consecutive Bundesliga title.
An understudy to Robert Lewandowski, one of the best number 9s in the world, Zirkzee has delivered when called upon, scoring four goals in eight Bundesliga matches, most recently against Borussia Mönchengladbach on matchday 31.
The 19-year-old has attributed his development to Hansi Flick, who took over the reins from Niko Kovac in November 2019, and he's not thinking about leaving Bayern on loan despite his limited playing opportunities.
" "I haven't played my best games, but since Hansi Flick has taken the helm, he has given me the opportunity and confidence," Zirkzee told NOS via Bild.
He added : "At the moment I am not thinking about a loan business, I try to develop myself further in training and make the best of the minutes I get. After that we will see further".

Zirkzee is tied to Bayern Munich until the end of the 2022-2023 season, having inked a new contract last September.
