Denizlispor's Super Eagles Midfielder Faces Spell On The Sidelines
Published: June 17, 2020
Denizlispor have been dealt an injury blow ahead of their upcoming
Turkish Super Lig clash against Besiktas with news that Nigeria
international Eddy Onazi is set for a spell on the sidelines due to
injury.
Turkish sports daily Fanatik is reporting that the Super Eagles star has been advised by club medics to stay away from the pitch for two to three weeks.
A
small tear was detected in the posterior muscle during medical
examinations following the injury he suffered in Monday's 1-0 loss to
Sivasspor.
Onazi, who came off the bench in the 46th minute, was himself replaced thirteen minutes later due to the injury.
The
27-year-old returned from a long-term injury layoff in December 2019,
which saw him miss the Africa Cup of Nations and a large part of the
first half of the 2019-2020 campaign.
This
season, the former Lazio and Trabzonspor man has played ten games in all
competitions, with eight in the colours of Denizlispor, whom he joined
in the winter transfer market.
