Five Nigeria-Eligible Youngsters Pictured Training With Arsenal U23s Ahead Of New Season
Published: August 17, 2020
Five Nigeria-eligible starlets were pictured training with Arsenal U23s squad at London Colney on Monday, August 17, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Prominent amongst them is in-demand striker Folarin Balogun who has been linked with a departure from the Emirates Stadium this summer in search of senior playing opportunities, but the youngster was all smiles as he sweated it out with his mates.
Liverpool and AC Milan were reportedly monitoring the contract situation of the striker early this year, with a view to making a move for his services while Brentford saw a bid turned down by Arsenal.
Miguel Azeez and Tolaji Bola were also all involved, as manager Steve Bould ran the rule over the Hale End players as they stepped up their pre-season preparations.
James Olayinka, who has returned from his Northampton loan spell, and goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo were also both in training today, having put behind their injury worries of last season to take part in the activities.
Academy graduate Bukayo Saka has been promoted fully to the Gunners senior team squad and was understandably not part of today's workout with his compatriots.
