Manchester City's Nigeria-Eligible Goalkeeper On The Brink Of Joining Rochdale
Published: August 24, 2020According to the Irish Independent, English Football League club Rochdale are on the verge of announcing the signing of Manchester City's Nigeria-eligible goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu.
The newspaper added that the 18-year-old is expected to extend his contract with the Citizens before heading to the Dale on a season-long loan to continue his footballing education.
Bazunu is highly regarded at Manchester City so much so that manager Pep Guardiola included him in the List A for the knockout rounds of the Champions League after lockdown.
He joined the Etihad outfit in January 2019 and has debuted for the club in the UEFA Youth League, Premier League 2, U18 Premier League and FA Youth Cup.
The highly-rated glovesman was named to Manchester City's pre-season squad for their tour of Asia in July 2019.
A product of Shamrock Rovers, he made his debut in the Europa League qualifying rounds whilst still a 16-year-old.
