Nigerian winger resumes training with Arsenal U21s after lengthy spell on the sidelines
Published: April 29, 2024Nigerian winger Henry Timi Davies has resumed training with Arsenal U21s after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Arsenal youth team expert Jeorge Bird says Davies is back in training with Arsenal's development squad after missing majority of the 2023-2024 season due to injury.
The Arsenal U21 player had an unfortunate start to the season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that required surgery.
Former Manchester City schoolboy Timi Davies arrived at Arsenal in March 2021 with a huge reputation but injuries have slowed down his progress, limiting his appearances to only two in the U18 Premier League.
He also featured in matches against West Ham United and Newcastle United in the U18 Premier League Cup, bringing his total appearances for the Gunners youth teams to four.
Although the forward has yet to make his debut for Arsenal's development squad, he was named in the matchday squad for the Premier League 2 clash against Derby County in January 2022.
Davies has been described as a powerful and direct winger who is able to play as a wing-back.
The Arsenal U21 coaches will continue to monitor the fitness of Davies in order to determine whether he is available for the Premier League 2 playoffs.
