Two-time Serie A champions Lazio yet to table offer for Super Eagles midfielder, but interest is real

Two-time Serie A champions Lazio are exploring ways to sign Nigeria international Fisayo Dele-Bashiru ahead of the reopening of the transfer window.
Turkish journalist Reşat Can Özbudak broke the news that Lazio were interested in the Manchester City academy product, who currently defends the colours of Turkish Super Lig club Hatayspor.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can confirm that the Biancocelesti, through a 'representative', have held initial talks with Dele-Bashiru's camp over a transfer for the versatile midfielder but have not yet firmed up their interest.
It can be reported with certainty that Lazio have not yet made an official bid for the Super Eagles rising star amid speculation at home and abroad that Lazio have also started official negotiations with Hatayspor.
Dele-Bashiru arrived at Hatayspor on a free transfer last summer after choosing not to extend his contract with Sheffield Wednesday.
He started his Hatayspor career on fire, registering seven goal involvements in his first eight league games, leading to a maiden call-up to Nigeria's senior national team for a pair of friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique back in October.
The 23-year-old was named in Nigeria's provisional squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations but didn't crack the final squad.
He is on the list of players being targeted to bolster the Lazio midfield and it remains to be seen whether the Rome-based club will put in an offer in the coming weeks.
Dele-Bashiru has roughly two years left on his contract with Hatayspor.
