Published: September 08, 2020Nigeria-eligible goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has been called up again to train with Arsenal's first team ahead of their first Premier League game of the 2020-2021 season at Fulham, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Hale End Academy product was among four players of Nigerian descent that trained with the Gunners first team last Friday, the others being Tolaji Bola, James Olayinka and Daniel Oyegoke.
According to the training pictures published by Arsenal's official website at the end of Tuesday's training session, Okonkwo was involved in the intense outdoor training session.
It is all but confirmed that the Anglo-Nigerian glovesman won't be involved when Arsenal U21s face Ipswich Town at Portman Road in their first competitive game of the new season this evening.
Bola, Miguel Azeez, Daniel Oyegoke and James Olayinka who have all trained with the first team in pre-season were not pictured in today's training session and this suggests that they are in the frame to play a part against the Tractor Boys.
Okonkwo has fully recovered after missing the whole of the 2019-2020 campaign due to an undisclosed ailment.
