Ex-Man Utd Striker Odubeko Nets Brace On His Full Competitive Debut For West Ham U21s
Published: September 08, 2020
Former Manchester United wonderkid Ademipo Odubeko took only two minutes to score on his full debut for West Ham U21s in their first competitive game of the new season - an EFL Trophy clash against Southend United at Roots Hall on Tuesday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Odubeko was named in West Ham's starting lineup along with defender Tunji Akinola and striker Oladapo Afolayan.
Prior to his maiden appearance for the Hammers U21 squad today, the striker figured off the bench for the U23s in the Premier League International Cup and Premier League 2 last season.
Odubeko sent a powerful shot into the bottom corner from 25 yards to give West Ham the lead but the Blues were back on level terms thanks to a wonder strike from Humphrys after 13 minutes.
Six minutes from time, the West Ham number 45 bagged his brace, smashing home a volley from 20 yards to give West Ham a 2-1 lead, before Conor Coventry made it 3-1 in stoppage time.
The 17-year-old Odubeko joined West Ham in October 2019 after turning down a scholarship offer from Manchester United.
