Moses' Chelsea Future Thrown Into Doubt After Not Being Given Squad Number For 2020-21 Season
Published: September 10, 2020
Victor Moses's future at English Premier League side Chelsea has been thrown into doubt after he was not assigned a squad number for the 2020-2021 season.
Through their official website Chelsea have confirmed squad numbers for the new season ahead of their trip to Brighton & Hove and the probability of Moses playing again for the Blues is very low as he's not among the first teamers with shirt numbers.
The former Nigeria international cannot wear the number 15 he used for three consecutive seasons, 2016-17 to 2018-19, as it it has been allocated to Kurt Zouma while Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero has taken the number 13 the winger was assigned in his first season at Chelsea.
Interestingly Moses is still listed as a first team player alongside new signings Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz on Chelsea's official webpage.
With the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner in the last nine months of his contract, Chelsea will be looking to sell him this summer or risk losing him for nothing at the end of the 2020-2021 campaign.
Moses has been farmed out on loan to five different clubs since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in August 2012.
