Super Sub Ejuke Reveals What CSKA Moscow Coach Told Him Before Scoring On Home Debut
Published: September 14, 2020Chidera Ejuke played the position of a forward on his home debut after coming off the bench to replace Fedor Chalov in the 65th minute of CSKA Moscow's 3-1 win over Spartak Moscow at the VEB Arena on Sunday, September 13.
In second half stoppage tome, the summer arrival from SC Heerenveen netted his first goal in CSKA Moscow colours, slotting home with a right-footed shot from close range, assisted by Ivan Oblyakov.
Ejuke has revealed what CSKA Moscow coach Viktor Goncharenko told him before he entered the game as a substitute.
"He just told me to go in and enjoy and just try to play with the team, defend with the team as well which is like more important but when we play forward, be free and enjoy your game, use what you have to create chances for the team and just support each other when you go out there," Ejuke told CSKA Moscow's official Youtube page.
It has not taken Ejuke long to open his goalscoring account for the Muscovites, spending 50 minutes on the pitch in total, and hopes to score more goals in subsequent matches.
"To be honest it's exciting to score, each time I go out there I just want to do my best and give my best for the fans, for the team, for the club.
"Hopefully as the season goes I can keep scoring. I believe and I'm just looking forward to that".
