Former Chelsea Star Aina Finally Debuts For Fulham In Loss To Brentford; Lookman Too
Published: October 01, 2020Chelsea Academy product Ola Aina has finally made his competitive debut for Fulham and it came in their Carabao Cup loss to Championship opponents Brentford at the Brentford Community Stadium on Thursday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Since the transfer of the Nigeria international was confirmed by the Cottagers on September 11, he was not selected for four consecutive matches against Arsenal, Ipswich Town, Leeds United and Aston Villa.
Wearing the number 34 jersey, Aina was on the pitch for 69 minutes before making way for Dennis Odoi.
Marcus Forss put the home team ahead when he smashed the ball beyond goalkeeper Rodak in the 37th minute.
Manager Scott Parker made one change at half-time, bringing on his brand new signing Ademola Lookman as a replacement for another player of Nigerian descent, Josh Onomah.
Fulham had a very good spell in the opening minutes of the second half but the Bees weathered the storm and never looked back after scoring their second goal through undoubtedly the star of the show, Said Benrahma at minute 62.
Benrahma, on his first start of the season, wrapped up the scoring in style when he nutmegged Fulham center back Hector and bent the ball into the bottom corner in the 77th minute.
