Osimhen matches Galatasaray manager's goal tally in 3-1 win over Goztepe
Published: October 26, 2025
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was on target again as Galatasaray secured a 3-1 victory over Goztepe in their Turkish Super Lig clash on Sunday night at Rams Park.
Goztepe took an early lead through Efkan Bekiroglu in the sixth minute, but Osimhen restored parity for the hosts just 13 minutes later.
The Nigerian forward capitalized on a defensive error, rounded the goalkeeper, and calmly slotted home to make it 1-1.
Second-half goals from Gabriel Sara and Mauro Icardi sealed the comeback for Galatasaray, ensuring they maintained their impressive run of form.
Osimhen's strike was his sixth goal in nine matches across all competitions this season.
The goal also saw him equal the career tally of Galatasaray legend Okan Buruk, who netted 43 times in 306 appearances during his playing days.
Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli at the start of the 2024/2025 campaign, Osimhen has scored 43 goals in just 50 appearances.
The victory marked Galatasaray's ninth win of the season, keeping them firmly at the top of the table with 28 points, five clear of second-placed Trabzonspor, who sit on 23 points.
With Osimhen in red-hot form, Galatasaray look well on course to defend their league title and continue their dominance in Turkish football.
