Talented Crystal Palace Youth-Teamer Akinwale Scores Against Chelsea Again; Abu Debuts

Crystal Palace defeated Chelsea 1-0 in an U18 Premier League fixture at the Cobham Training Centre in Surrey on Friday afternoon, with Anglo-Nigerian frontman Victor Akinwale netting the winning goal for the Eagles, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
As for team news, Akinwale, Omotayo Adaramola and David Omilabu started for the visiting team, while goalkeeper Kelechi Chibueze and attack-minded fullback Derrick Abu were among Chelsea's substitutes.
Both teams could not be separated at half-time with the scoreboard reading goalless.
Crystal Palace were ahead in the 66th minute, Akinwale scoring with a right-footed effort in the box, his first goal in the U18 Premier League for the Category 1 newcomers.
Akinwale netted a brace as Crystal Palace thrashed Chelsea 3-0 in the regional final of the Super Floodlit Cup back in the 2018-2019 season.
The first year scholar has been described by his minders as a striker who is dynamic, powerful, good in hold-up play and a good finisher .
Derrick Abu came on in the 85th minute for his debut for Chelsea in the U18 Premier League.
The German-born defender was a non-playing substitute against Southampton U18s on September 26.
