Sodje's Nephew Scores For The Fourth Consecutive Game As Man City Beat Man Utd U18s
Published: October 03, 2020
Sam Sodje's nephew, Tai, continued his brilliant start to the 2020-2021 season with another goal as Manchester City defeated Manchester United 2-1 in an U18 Premier League fixture at the Academy Stadium on Saturday afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Despite dominating proceedings, the Citizens could not breach the Red Devils defence and it remained goalless heading into the interval.
Manchester City finally broke the deadlock ten minutes after the restart when Sodje dusted himself off and converted a spot kick after he was fouled in the box.
In doing so, the 17-year-old took his tally in the league to 6 goals having scored in four consecutive matches.
He found the net against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the opening day of the season, before scoring against Everton on September 19 and the highlight of his season so far was the hat-trick he scored vs Liverpool last weekend.
United drew level through Martin Svidersky on the hour mark but the parity lasted only five minutes with Carlos Borges netting what proved to be the winning goal.
City's final substitution saw Sodje making way for Micah Hamilton in the 84th minute.
