'It's My Wrong Foot' - Fulham's Aina Reveals His Stronger Foot After Scoring Vs West Brom
Published: November 03, 2020
Nigeria international Ola Aina was delighted to help Fulham secure a 2-0 win against Semi Ajayi's West Brom in a Premier League match at Craven Cottage on Monday evening.
Considering the way Scott Parker's side started the season, the Cottagers were desperate for a win and Bobby Reid got them on their way when he headed the ball home on 26 minutes before a sensational left-footed strike from Aina four minutes later, with both goals assisted by Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Aina has admitted that his right foot is stronger than his left but he has beeen working on his weaker foot and he got the reward for the practice he has put in with a thunderbolt from just outside the box.
Speaking post-match, the Super Eagle told Sky Sports : "Yes, it's my wrong foot but I'm very comfortable.
"I have been working on my left foot and just being able to play on it, be comfortable so it comes as second nature to me."
Former England U19 captain Aina, who started his career as a winger, has been deployed mostly as a left-back for the Super Eagles, including at last year's Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where he acted as cover for the injured Jamilu Collins.
