'I Didn't Find Dennis Convincing Today' - Club Brugge Coach Admits Eagles Striker Not At His Best
Published: November 09, 2020Club Brugge coach Philippe Clement has admitted that Emmanuel Dennis has not been at his best since the start of the 2020-2021 season.
The Super Eagles striker missed out on a dream move to the English Premier League in the summer transfer window due to a work permit obstacle and since then he has failed to shine especially in the Belgian First Division A.
Club Brugge supporters have questioned whether Dennis deserves a spot in the starting lineup based on his recent underwhelming performances and it appears Clement is running out of patience with his number 42, having named him in the starting lineup only two times in the last six league matches.
Manager Clement has publicly criticized Dennis in the wake of another poor showing in his side's 3-1 win at KV Oostende on Sunday.
Speaking post-match, Clement told Club Brugge's official website : "I did not find Dennis convincing today and I expected more from him.
"I will do an individual analysis with him to build on for the coming months. We have now scored the goals. That's just the truth. Hence it is positive."
In ten outings across all competitions this term, Dennis has managed only one goal - against Zenit St Petersburg in the UEFA Champions League.
