Ex-Leeds Striker Predicts Aribo Could Bring In N11.8B As Transfer Fee If Sold By Rangers
Published: November 11, 2020
Former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan has predicted that Joe Aribo could bring in in the region of 20 million pounds (around N11.8 billion in Nigerian currency) if sold by Scottish Premiership giants Glasgow Rangers next year.
The Nigeria international has been one of the brightest talents at Rangers since his arrival from Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2019 with 13 goals from 59 appearances and has set up eight goals.
Whelan has highlighted that Aribo has put himself in the shop window as a result of Steven Gerrard's team excelling in this season's Premiership and Europa League.
"This is a team that is performing in Europe as well as domestically," Whelan said to Football Insider.
"If they keep going the way that they are you are going to be talking in the £20million bracket to force players like Aribo away from Rangers.
"They are a massive club, in Europe and could be in the Champions League next year – there is not many better than this club. Rangers are a huge, huge club.
The likes of Joe Aribo will be looked at but that is just what happens at a successful club. They will put a price tag on, that’s for sure."

Aribo, who is currently on international duty with the Super Eagles in Benin City, is valued at one million euros by Transfermarkt.
