Napoli Striker Osimhen Not In Super Eagles Traveling Party To Face Sierra Leone
Published: November 16, 2020
Victor Osimhen has not been included in the Super Eagles traveling party to Freetown, where they face Sierra Leone in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on November 17, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Napoli striker has been ordered to return to Italy and departed the Nigeria camp in Benin City on Sunday.
Upon his arrival in Naples, the Azzurri medical team will check the shoulder problem that he suffered during the second half of Nigeria's 4-4 draw with Sierra Leone.
The initial prognosis from the Nigeria medial team is that their number 9 will be sidelined for at least two weeks.
And if that is confirmed after his thorough examination in Naples, he would miss key games against AC Milan in the Serie A and Rijeka in the Europa League and rated as doubtful to face Roma on November 29.
Osimhen was involved in three of Nigeria's four goals last Friday, scoring his fifth international goal in the 21st minute before he provided the assists for the goals scored by Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze.
