Sierra Leone Hand Late Call-up To Home-based Defender Ahead Of AFCONQ Vs Nigeria
The Sierra Leone Football Association have handed a late call-up to a home-based defender, Shieku Conteh ahead of Tuesday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Nigeria, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Conteh has been invited to join the Leone Stars' Golden Tulip Hotel camp as a possible replacement for FC Zurich center back Umaru Bangura who is unavailable for selection in tomorrow's game against the Super Eagles.

The Sierra Leone captain was yellow-carded during the first half of the 4-4 draw against Nigeria on November 13, triggering an automatic one-match ban in the process.

Bangura picked up his first caution of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Lesotho on matchday one.

The experienced central defender has been an influential player for John Keister's side, logging the full ninety in each of the three matches played by the Leone Stars in the qualifiers.

Nigeria will take on the Leone Stars at the National Stadium in Freetown on Tuesday, starting from 1700 hours.
