Ireland Completely Secure International Future Of Norwich City Striker Of Nigerian Descent
The Football Association of Ireland have completely secured the international future of Norwich City striker of Nigerian descent Adam Idah, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Idah was fast-tracked into the Republic of Ireland senior squad at the start of the season, a reward for his first team breakthrough at the Canaries, for whom he made 16 appearances over the course of 2019-2020.

Born in Cork to a Nigerian father and Irish mother, he made his senior debut for Ireland in a UEFA Nations League tie vs Bulgaria in September 2020.

The 19-year-old took his total appearances for the Boys in Green to four when he was named in the starting lineup in a friendly against England last Thursday.

Thus, Idah cannot switch nationality to Nigeria again as he made his fourth appearance for his country of birth before the age of 21.

Meanwhile, he is not in contention to earn his sixth Irish cap against Bulgaria on Wednesday as he has returned to his Championship club after suffering an injury while on international duty.

Southampton's Michael Obafemi, Manchester City's Gavin Bazunu, Celtic's Jonathan Afolabi and Rotherham United's Joshua Kayode who were all named in the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for the last international break of 2020 remain eligible to represent the Super Eagles.
