Tri-Eligible Midfielder Felix Nmecha Named In Manchester City's Matchday 23 To Face Olympiakos
Published: November 24, 2020German-born attacking midfielder of Nigerian descent, Felix Nmecha is in the frame to take his total appearances for Manchester City's first team to three on Wednesday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Spanish football tactician Pep Guardiola included him in the 23-man traveling squad to Greece on Tuesday, meaning the tri-eligible youngster is certain to be included in the matchday squad barring an injury in the final workout or in the pre-match warmup.
Nmecha's two other appearances for City's first team came against Burton Albion in the League Cup back in January 2019 and Olympiakos in the Champions League earlier this month.
The 20-year-old made an impact after coming off the bench on matchday three against the Greek Super League champions, setting up City's third goal scored by João Cancelo in the 90th minute.
He was in fine goalscoring form last month for the Citizens U23 squad, netting a brace against Leicester in addition to his strike vs Arsenal in the Premier League 2.
Nmecha has earned caps for England and Germany's youth teams and remains eligible to play for the Super Eagles through his father.
Manchester City have had a very good start to this season's Champions League, winning their first three matches and have netted nine goals while conceding just once.
