Germany, England Or Nigeria? Chelsea Product Musiala Makes Decision On International Future
Published: December 26, 2020
Chelsea academy product Jamal Musiala has reportedly made a decision on the senior national team to commit his international future to.
The Bayern Munich wonderkid was born in Stuttgart to a Nigerian father and a German mother, hence, he qualifies to represent the Super Eagles, Three Lions and Die Mannschaft.
But he became provisionally cap-tied to England after playing for 18 minutes in an U21 EURO qualifier against Andorra last month, having previously turned out for Germany U16s and England U15s, U16s and U17s.
According to information from the authoritative German newspaper Bild, Musiala's camp has said that he is likely to choose the country that approaches him first to play for the senior team, though he is leaning towards England at the moment.
Musiala is on the radar of the German Football Association and the four-time world champions are hoping to beat England and Nigeria to his services by fast-tracking him into their senior team.
One of the revelations of the 2020-2021 season so far, the 17-year-old has totaled sixteen appearances for Bayern Munich's first team, scoring three goals.
Musiala spent eights years at the Chelsea academy before he was poached by Bayern Munich in the summer of 2019.
