Fulham's Lookman Earns Praise From Barcelona Legend For Composed Finish Vs Manchester United
Published: January 21, 2021
Manchester United have returned to the summit of the English Premier League following a 2-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night.
As expected, manager Scott Parker selected center backs Ola Aina and Tosin Adarabaiyo and winger Ademola Lookman in his starting lineup, Josh Onomah was a non-playing substitute while Odion Ighalo was snubbed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the umpteenth time.
The RB Leipzig loanee showed brilliant composure to give the Cottagers the lead in the 5th minute, drilling the ball into the bottom corner after he was played onside by Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Former Barcelona striker Gary Lineker praised Lookman on Twitter after his goal, posting : "Look man, that’s a decent finish from Lookman".
Edinson Cavani pounced on a goalkeeping error by Alphonse Areola and restored parity in the 21st minute, before a brilliant goal from Paul Pogba in the 65th minute secured a win for Manchester United.
Lookman has now been involved in six goals (3 goals,
3 assists) in the Premier League this season, more than any other
Fulham player.
The 2017 U20 World Cup winner and Adarabioyo put in a full shift, Aina made way for Aleksandar Mitrovic in the 83rd minute.
