'He Trained With Us This Week' - Leicester Boss Rodgers Hoping Ndidi Returns To Action Vs Brighton
Published: February 07, 2021It was another setback for Leicester City in their title challenge after they were held to a goalless draw by Wolverhampton Wanderers in a Premier League match at Molineux Stadium on Sunday.
Wolves put up an excellent defensive resistance and the Foxes could not break the deadlock even with the introduction of Jamie Vardy for Kelechi Iheanacho on the hour mark.
Wolves' Fabio Silva was denied by a fantastic save from Kasper Schmeichel in the 78th minute and Vardy had a chance to win the game but his header went just wide in the closing minutes.
For the third game running, Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers was without his influential midfielder Wilfred Ndidi who is recovering from a hamstring complaint.
The Northern Irishman is hoping to have the Nigeria international available for selection when they face Brighton & Hove in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup on Wednesday.
Providing a fitness update on the holding midfielder, Rodgers was quoted as saying by BBC Sport : "He has trained with us this week but we thought it was maybe too much of a risk today but hoping he will be back on Wednesday with us too".
This season, Ndidi has missed sixteen games played in all competitions by the King Power Stadium outfit due to injuries.
