Glasgow Celtic, Arsenal, Man City starlets of Nigerian descent receive England U19 call-up
Published: May 21, 2021Three players eligible to represent Nigeria youth teams have been selected by England U19s boss Ian Foster for a five-day St George's Park training camp this month.
The Young Lions coaching staff will run the rule over Tobi Oluwayemi (Celtic), Daniel Oyegoke (Arsenal) and Sam Edozie (Manchester City) during the training camp.
Manager Foster has named a 28-man group as they begin preparations for the qualification stages for the 2022 Under-19 European Championship in Slovakia.
Goalkeeper Oluwayemi has represented England at U16, U17 and U18 levels and the same applies to promising center back Oyegoke.
Edozie has played a non-binding game for England U18s, a friendly against Wales on March 29, 2021.
A winger by trade, he was a key member of the Manchester City side that won the Premier League 2 this season, making 17 appearances in the division, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
The training camp will start on Sunday 23 May and run until Thursday 27 May.
