Super Eagles striker Iheanacho wins Leicester City Goal of the Season award
Published: May 21, 2021Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho has won Leicester City's Goal of the Season award for the 2020-2021 campaign, informs the official website of the Foxes.
The former Manchester City wonderkid had found the net on nineteen occasions so far this season, which is his personal best for goals in a single season since turning professional.
Three of the twelve goals netted by Iheanacho in the Premier League were shortlisted for the Goal of the Season accolade - his strikes against Burnley, Sheffield United (third goal) and Crystal Palace.
The 24-year-old's stunning effort in the 80th minute against the Eagles was voted the most eye-catching goal scored by a Leicester City player in 2020-2021.
He took a touch in the area, swiveled inside and smashed the ball into the roof of the net, assisted by Jonny Evans.
Iheanacho saw off competition from Dennis Praet, James Vardy, James Maddison, Cengiz Under, Harvey Barnes, James Justin, Ayoze Perez, Youri Tielemans and Luke Thomas to win the award.

In his maiden season at Leicester City, the Taye Academy product was nominated for the Goal of the Season but missed out on the award to Jamie Vardy.
