Photo confirmation : Exciting Nigerian wing-back signs new contract with Sheffield United
Published: May 21, 2021
Through a statement on their official website, Premier League side Sheffield United have announced that exciting Manchester-born Nigerian wing-back Femi Seriki has signed his first professional contract with the club.
It is double celebration for Seriki as only two days ago he made his professional debut against Newcastle United in the Premier League.
He is one of five teenagers who have all agreed terms and have put pen-to-paper on long-term deals at Bramall Lane, the others being Daniel Jebbison, Andre Brooks, Jordan Amissah and Oliver Arblaster.
The Anglo-Nigerian joined Sheffield United in September 2019 following the closure of Bury FC.
Seriki helped Sheffield United win this season's Professional Development League, scoring five goals in 24 appearances in the division.
It is envisaged that Sheffield United's relegation to the second-tier of English football could offer him the chance to get more minutes for the first team in 2021-2022.
