Exciting winger Edozie stars with goal and assist as Man City are crowned U18 national champions

Exciting Nigeria-eligible winger Samuel Edozie was outstanding as Manchester City thrashed Fulham 3-1 to secure the U18 National title on Saturday afternoon.
It's ten days since the Citizens beat Burnley to win the U18 Premier League North title and they faced the southern division winners at the Academy Stadium for the overall title.
Edozie started upfront as part of a three-man attacking trident also consisting of Micah Hamilton and Carlos Borges, while Nigerian striker Tai Sodje wasn't in the matchday squad but was present at the stadium.
As for Fulham, Idris Odutayo went the distance and Michael Olakigbe was a non-playing substitute.
The game had ended as a contest by the end of the first half as Manchester City were three goals up through strikes from Edozie, Borges and Oscar Bobb.
Edozie gave Manchester City a dream start when he broke the deadlock with a cool first-time finish from Larios' cross in the third minute, before Borges slid home Edozie's cross to double the advantage in the 7th minute.
Aged 18, the Anglo-Nigerian predominantly played for City's U13 team in 2020-2021, making 17 appearances in total to help them secure the Premier League 2 title and shone in the EFL Trophy with two goals in three games.
